System Seals has expanded its team based in Hamburg, Germany with the appointment of Sales Engineer Jochen Behrens.
Jochen brings a wealth of qualifications and experience to the role, from the seals sector and beyond. A state-certified technician specialising in mechanical engineering, with a focus on CNC systems engineering, he has also trained as a technical business economist.
Prior to joining System Seals, Jochen was Area Sales Manager for polyurethane materials in the construction sector. His career in mechanical engineering includes Project Management and Sales Engineer roles across a range of blue chip companies.
In his role he will visit key industrial clients across Europe, delivering tailored sales and technical solutions to address their unique requirements.
Outside of work, Jochen, who hails from Großhansdorf in Northern Germany, enjoys travelling and riding motorbikes – alongside looking after his two children.
Sean Hensey, Managing Director of System Seals Europe, commented: “With Jochen’s appointment we are delivering on our promise to provide market-leading service and expertise to our clients. From technical support in the field through to customer service, this very much represents the DNA of our company.”
“Jochen’s blend of technical and commercial acumen, coupled with his engaging personality, makes him a real asset to our team here.”
We are pleased to announce that our applications engineer for the wind industry market segment is now certified to work offshore, having completed the required “GWO BST Sea Survival” and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) with CA-EBS. Among the safety elements covered are personal safety, symptoms of drowning and hypothermia, use of LSA, PPE and PFPE equipment, first aid in case of a man overboard and evacuation procedures, training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and emergency response knowledge and skills in the event of a helicopter emergency.
Previously we have supplied on-site installation support for our customers onshore wind farms, both close to home in Germany, and in countries across Europe and in North America. This “up-tower” field support allows us to better understand the applications, and to problem solve side by side with our customers. Along with being a very important service we offer our customers, it also provides valuable feedback to our own R&D team on the performance of our seals and the challenges we face.
