The commitment at System Seals GmbH both to the environment and to the highest standards across its entire business is evidenced by the recent award of the new ISO 14001. The Environmental Management Standard will help the company contribute to a more sustainable world by protecting our environment.

ISO 14100 starts with understanding and managing environmental obligations and then identifying and controlling activities that have an environmental impact. The standard promotes a more systemic approach to attaining ongoing improvement in ‘Green Performance’.

Alongside curbing pollution and other environmental impacts, the Environmental Management Standard helps ensure legal compliance while delivering financial and operational benefits.

“Ultimately, this standard is a tool to assist us to reduce our environmental footprint in a systematic way that we can align with our operational and financial objectives,” explains Sean Hensey, Managing Director, System Seals Europe. “It goes much further than a framed certificate in our reception – it involves staff right across our organisation working to cut down on waste, lower energy use, adopt renewable resources, prevent pollution, comply with regulation and design for the complete product lifecycle.”

The ISO 14001 certificate was awarded in September by the Deutsches Institut für Qualität & Zertifizierung GmbH and applies until 2027.
